CAF presented its strategic development objectives at the “Europe – Central Asia” international seminar in Tashkent

On 12 February 2026, the international seminar “Europe – Central Asia: Training Competitive Personnel for the International Labour Market” was held in Tashkent at the Turin Polytechnic University with the participation of guests from Europe, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The Secretary General of CAF delivered a report entitled “Main Provisions and Strategic Objectives of the Development of the Central Asian Federation for Quality Assurance in Education”. The report presented the history of the Federation — from the Khujand Agreement of 2015 and the Turkestan Declaration of 2021 to the Almaty Agreement of 8 December 2023, under which CAF operates as a public-professional organisation of the Central Asian countries.

Particular attention was paid to the CAF Register — the main database of recognised educational institutions and programmes that meet the established quality standards. The register is maintained electronically, synchronised with European databases, regularly updated and open to all interested parties. Inclusion in the register is based on the results of an external evaluation carried out by an accreditation agency recognised by CAF.

Among the Federation’s strategic objectives are the promotion of common standards and quality evaluation procedures, mutual recognition of accreditations and qualifications, monitoring and analytics in the field of education quality, and participation in international networks and initiatives together with ENAEE, ENQA, EQAR and UNESCO.

The Secretary General thanked the rector and staff of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent for the high level of organisation of the seminar and reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to the principles of independence, transparency and mutual recognition of decisions in the field of education quality evaluation.
